About

I work on lending systems. At BFI Finance, one of Indonesia's largest listed multi-finance companies, I build and own the scoring and underwriting behind loan origination — mostly Java and Spring Boot, with Go alongside. A loan application comes in, data comes back from ten external providers, and the system produces the assessment that a credit analyst or a manager with approval authority acts on.

Twelve years of this, all of it in lending, credit, and financial services: consumer credit at Kredivo, conversational AI at AiChat, and lending platforms at smaller Indonesian companies before that. Most of my time goes to the parts that carry money — thresholds, staged workflows, and what a service does when an upstream provider is slow or returns something wrong.

  • Built the underwriting platform from scratch, design through production rollout. Live since Dec 2023, used by credit analysts and the branch and product managers who hold approval authority on incoming loan applications.
  • Owns the loan origination scoring engine end-to-end since Jan 2023: a 5-stage workflow integrating 10 external data providers to produce credit assessments across 6 financing products.
  • Designs and builds backend services for origination and credit decisioning in Java and Spring Boot, with Go alongside, in a regulated, publicly listed multi-finance environment.
  • Reviews backend changes across the squad and mentors engineers on the origination Java and Go codebases.
